TAT holds the 13th World WaiKruMuay Thai Ceremony

Ayutthaya (Thailand) – March 13, 2017 (travelindex) – Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) in cooperation with PhraNakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, Fine Arts Department, KruMuaythai Association, Thai Martial Art Institute Association, World MuayThai Federation, and Professional Boxing Association of Thailand, holds the 13th World WaiKruMuay Thai Ceremony to present the uniqueness of “Thai style” to promote and enhance the knowledge and understanding to the foreigner who are interested in Thai boxing to realize the importance of Thai boxing and WaiKruMuay.

In this year, “BuakhaoBanchamek”“SamartPhayakarun”, “AnuwatKaewsamrit”, and “SaengmaneeOumkatong Chiang Mai Gym” will  lead Thai boxers from around the world to attend the Rum WaiKruCeremony. Moreover, there are also a lot of activities, for example, professional Thai boxing competition of “Wonderful World Heritage Muay Thai Competition”; the fairs of famous Thai boxing camps including the Thai boxing learning courses from various Thai boxing camps ; exhibition of ancient weapons ; demonstration of knife and sword making from Ban Aranyik which is the original method ; mystic symbol tattoo making, and mystic symbol tattoo painting on the boxing vests; and Thai martial art performance.

In this year, garland weaving and inscribed cloth weaving is added. The audience will Meet and Greet with “BuakhaoBanchamek”. The ceremony will be held on 17th March, 2017, at WatMahathat and WatLangkhakhao, PhraNakhon Si Ayutthaya Historical Park, PhraNakhon Si Ayutthaya Province.

Event date: 17th March 2017 at Ayutthaya World Heritage (Wat Mahathat) from 13.00 onwards

Programme
01.00 pm – Professional Muay Thai boxing, the “Miracle Muay Thai Festival” is held at Wat Langka Khao, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Historical Park, including a fight for the World Professional Muay Thai Federation Championship Super-welterweight Title, a fight to defend the World Professional Muay Thai Federation Championship Welterweight.

On the fair grounds, items and products relating to Muay Thai as well as Muay Thai training courses by famous Thai boxing camps are on offer. Besides, visitors can sample the taste of Ayutthaya typical Thai food from a vast array of dishes, for example, Pad Thai, Rice Noodles in Curried Fish Sauce, Ayutthaya Dishes with Rice, Herbal Jelly and Coconut Milk Ice Cream, etc.

01.00 pm – Demonstrations of Thai handcrafts including talisman inscriptions and making of Aranyik swords, shows of Thai martial arts, a power test in the ancient form of Muay Thai trainng (by kicking banana trees), and a visit to the Muay Thai Gallery where there is a collection of photos depicting Muay Thai fighting tactics that perfectly combine the beauty and fierceness of fighting in the form of self-defence.

05.00 pm – Meet and Greet with Buakaw Banchamek

06.00 pm – Welcome to The 13th World Wai Kru Muay Thai Ceremony.

07.30 pm – Welcoming reception and the “Amazing Thailand” performance.
